PENINGKATAN HASIL BELAJAR MATEMATIKA DIMENSI TIGA DENGAN METODE VISUALISASI (Studi Kasus di SMKN I Semarang Tahun Pelajaran 2012-2013)
Abstract
Rendahnya hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Matematika,
khususnya pokok bahasan dimensi tiga telah menimbulkan keprihatinan tersendiri bagi guru yang bersangkutan. Oleh karena itu perlu dicari solusinya.
Penelitian ini bertujuan memperbaiki dan meningkatkan kualitas praktek pembelajaran, mengembangkan ketrampilan penggunaan media pembelajaran; dan mengetahui keefektifan visualisasi dalam upaya peningkatan hasil belajar siswa terhadap mata pelajaran matematika pokok bahasan dimensi tiga.
Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMK Negeri 1 Semarang, dengan subjek peneltian kelas XI TAB, mulai dari awal Maret 2013 sampai dengan akhir Mei 2013. Peneltian dilakukan dengan dua siklus. Siklus pertama untuk materi ajar jarak titik ke titik, jarak titik ke garis dan jarak titik ke bidang dalam ruang dimensi tiga, dan materi ajar jarak garis ke garis, jarak garis ke bidang, pada siklus kedua materi besar sudut antara garis dan garis, garis dan bidang serta antara dua bidang dalam ruang dimensi tiga. Analisis dan interpretasi dilakukan dengan regresi linier berganda (untuk mengetahui besarnya pengaruh minat dan keaktifan siswa terhadap hasil belajar) dan uji kesamaan dua rata-rata atau uji t berpasangan (untuk mengetahui signifikansi peningkatan hasil belajar dari siklus pertama ke siklus kedua).
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa berminat terhadap mata pelajaran matematika pokok bahasan dimensi tiga, dan sebagian besar aktif pula mengikuti kegiatan pembelajaran. Hasil belajar pada siklus pertama mencapai rata-rata 57 sedangkan hasil belajar pada siklus kedua 64,33 . Peningkatan hasil tersebut sangat signifikan dengan tingkat signifikansi pada angka 0,000 (0%).
Kesimpulannya ialah proses pembelajaran dengan visualisasi menggunakan media animasi power point dan alat peraga, dapat meningkatkan minat belajar siswa, keaktifan siswa dalam mengikuti pembelajaran dimensi tiga, dan hasil belajar siswa
